SF Railway Token Cufflinks
Designed for the discriminating man, these sterling silver antique cufflinks feature vintage San Francisco railway tokens.
Remember when a train ride and a cup of coffee were both the same price? Remember having a pocketful of tokens? These beautifully designed antique cufflinks will delight all San Francisco buffs.
These dime-sized tokens, first minted in 1945, were used for the "F" Market and Wharves historic streetcar line, the world famous cable cars, and the "MUNI" buses and Metro streetcars that crisscross the city. Cable cars were invented in 1873 to pull streetcars safely up and down the steep hills.
Each set of SF cufflinks use authentic railway tokens which featured the famous cut out "SF." These San Francisco cufflinks are both "heads" with each reading "Municipal Railway." Both are set in sterling silver, adding a touch of elegance. We hope they evoke fond memories of your first cable car ride!
Presented in a handsome padded flip-open box with velvet and satin interior lining and a map of SF's subway lines on the top.
Makes a great gift!
