The Colosseum in Rome, Italy was built by the Emperors Vespasian, Titus and Domittian and was completed in 82 A.D. The structure exemplifies a complex elliptical design which had to be worked out mathematically, with room for 50,000 spectators. It housed such public events as gladiator fights, mock naval battles, wild animal hunts and chariot races.
Each set comes with 2 bookends. They are made of resin with an antiqued finish.
