London's St. Paul's Cathedral Bookends
The current cathedral is actually the fourth structure to occupy the site. Its predecessor was destroyed in the great fire of London. The first cathedral was constructed in 604 A.D.
Dedicated to St. Paul, the cathedral reflects not only the importance of spirituality, but it also illustrates the determination of the five monarchs who oversaw its construction that London's leading church should be as beautiful and imposing as the private palaces throughout the empire.
Important services have included the funerals of Princess Diana, Lord Nelson, the Duke of Wellington and Sir Winston Churchill, the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Jubilee celebrations for Queen Victoria, King George V and the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen.
Each set comes with 2 bookends. They are made of resin with an antiqued finish.
